Charlie Company senior medic Ron Slane as a student at Oregon State University. Slane, a conscientious objector who carried no weapon, had seen much action with Delta and Bravo companies of the Manchus before his assignment to Charlie Company. He was awarded the Silver Star for his actions treating the wounded while serving with Delta Company.
